My friend Diane just summited Mt. Rainier. She said it was the hardest thing she's ever done in her life, including child birth. Diane and I were neighbors in Eatonville. When we eventually raised our families, we sold our homes and moved. Diane to Ashford, and myself to Puyallup. Diane is the greatest person to hike with. Today we ended climbing through a lot of snow kicking our way in up a 500 ft. incline on the High Skyline Trail. Usually in July there isn't too much snow and the wildflowers are starting to poke their way out of the snow. There was very little sign of life today both flora and fauna. As we traversed above Panorama Point, we met up with a few people enjoying the sun. The best part of the hike is sliding down the chutes and visiting with my friend. If you are reading this little post, I ask you...can you feel this good at 50! Life is good is an understatement!
